The international guitar festival Mikulov, which is organized by the civil association Guitar festival Mikulov in the cooperation with the Regional Museum Mikulov, belongs to one of the best European festivals devoted to classical guitar. Over the past 20 years of the festival duration guitar was presented not only as a solo instrument but also in the combination with other instruments or with orchestra. Jazz, flamenco and other musical genres are included into the festival programme in addition to the classical music.

The festival takes place every year at the beginning of July and runs in the form of seminars, masterclasses, workshops and sales exhibitions of musical instruments and sheets. The most attractive part of the festival is represented by the series of afternoon and evening concerts in the areas of Mikulov castle, where leading world artists are invited to perform for the participants of the festival and for the general public.

Usually at about 150 active participants from all over the world arrive to the festival and at about 300 people visit the concerts on the daily basis. The festival is observed by national media and international press. A documentary CD is released after each year of the festival.

The festival is supported both by the national institutions /Mikulov town, South Moravian region, The Ministry of Culture of the Czech republic/ and companies. The general sponsor of the festival is BOSCH company.
